Danille Turissini
Statewide Grassroots Director
[email protected]
Motivated by her faith in God and love for her country, she has made it her life’s ambition to inform, empower, energize and engage Christian citizens in a lifestyle of biblical advocacy and community bridge building. Danille is passionate about facilitating strong community relationships and helping Christians make meaningful connections in the communities they live and serve. Danille’s experience as a grassroots activist spans nearly three decades and three states, including California, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
Danille’s political grassroots experience began in her home state of California, where she worked as a volunteer for President Ronald Reagan's 1984 reelection bid. In 1985, she relocated to Pennsylvania, where she continued her grassroots involvement with the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, Pennsylvania Family Policy Institute, and served as a regional grassroots coordinator for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (1992), among many other local, state, and national contests.
In 2001, her family relocated again, this time to Washington, which lead to her tenure as the 2004 Republican National Committee (RNC) Washington State Church Outreach Coordinator. In 2005, she worked as a part-time lobbyist and statewide grassroots coordinator for Washington Evangelicals for Responsible Government (WERG), which she helped to organize the second largest rally in the history of Olympia, Washington -- the 2005 March 8th Mayday for Marriage Rally, attended by more than 7,000 people in support of authentic marriage.
Danille is credited with developing a statewide grassroots citizen action network comprised of socially conservative churches and organizations, ethnic and religious coalitions, and individuals, which generated thousands of phone calls and letters to lawmakers during the 2005 and 2007 Washington State Legislative Sessions. In August 2007, her grassroots work was featured on the internationally acclaimed CNN-Christiane Amanpour documentary, "God's Christian Warriors". Her accumulative grassroots work was used as a building block to establish the Family Policy Institute of Washington.
In 2006, she worked on staff as the Associate Legislative Aid for the Washington State House of Representatives House Republican Caucus Media Services.
In 2008, Danille served as the statewide grassroots director for Washington for Huckabee, a surrogate campaign on behalf of Mike Huckabee for President. During the 2012 election cycle, she volunteered as the five-county Peninsula region director for Preserve Marriage Washington.
In addition to her political grassroots experience, she is a former journalist and presently serves on the Peninsula Development District regional economic development board. She is the founding director of the PEAK Leadership Program, a 10-month, two-county community adult leadership training initiative serving Jefferson and Clallam Counties, on the North Olympic Peninsula in northwest Washington.
Danille is a 2001 graduate of RULE, the Pennsylvania State University Rural Leadership Program, which earned her the “Pennsylvania House of Representatives Citation for Demonstrating a Commitment to Solving Community Problems”.
She and Dave attend Calvary Community Church in Port Townsend, Washington. Together, they have four children, including their son-in-law, three grandchildren, an umbrella cockatoo, and a dog named Jasper.
